West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee claimed that 30 people have committed suicide by fearing National Register of Citizens (NRC). With reports to back her claim, statement by Trinamool supremo was me during a rally to protest amended Citizenship Bill and NRC in Kolkata on Tuesday. As protests erupted in several places including state capital Kolkata, Mamata Banerjee led a 4-km march against Citizenship (Amendment) Act on Monday, and dared Centre to dismiss her government, igring Goverr Jagdeep Dhankhar's disapproval.
Mamata Banerjee said, "In West Bengal, 30 people have committed suicide due to fear of NRC (National Register of Citizens). Who will take responsibility for it?" Leing a protest march on second day from Javpur to Ju Babu's Bazar, Trinamool chief also ded, "Our slogan is ' CAB, NRC in Bengal'."
