Man Being Treated for Anxiety Commits Suicide, Jumps Off Hospital Terrace
He was immediately taken to the emergency room but was declared dead. No suicide note was recovered.
Delhi: A retired Delhi High Court employee died after falling from the terrace of a hospital in Dwarka, Delhi, police said on Saturday.
The man, who was being treated for anxiety and stress at a hospital in Mohan Garden, jumped from the fourth floor around 8 p.m. on Friday, according to police.
He was immediately taken to the emergency room but was declared dead. No suicide note was recovered, and the police is reviewing CCTV footage. An inquest has been initiated to investigate the incident.
In a similar incident, A 42-year-old Bajaj Finance employee, Tarun Saxena, died by suicide in Jhansi, citing intense work pressure from his seniors. Saxena, who worked as an area manager, was found dead at his residence on Monday morning by his house help.
In a suicide note addressed to his wife, Megha, Saxena described the immense stress he faced due to his job. He mentioned being tasked with collecting EMIs for Bajaj Finance loans in his area and facing repeated humiliation from senior managers for not meeting targets. The note revealed his deep concern about losing his job and his inability to cope with the pressure. "I am very tense about the future. I have lost my ability to think. I am going," he wrote.
Saxena also expressed his frustrations, stating that he had not slept or eaten properly for over a month and was under constant pressure from senior managers to meet targets or quit. The case has raised concerns about work-related stress and the mental health challenges faced by employees. Authorities are investigating the matter.
