A 22-year-old man died after his mobile phone, which was being charged, exploded while he was sleeping in a room in port town of Parip, police said.

incident took place late on Sunday night when deceased, identified as Kuna Prhan, who worked as a mason, was sleeping along with three or workers in room at a construction site at Atharabanki area, Inspector-in-Charge of Parip police station R K Samal said.

When mobile exploded, he died on spot, Samal said. mason, who hailed from Ranpur area in Nayagarh district, was engd in construction of a temple in Parip undertaken by an association of truck owners. On being informed, police reached spot and sent body to a hospital for post-mortem examination.
