Man-Eater Wolf Strikes Again, 5-year-old Injured in Latest Attack in UP's Bahraich

Bahraich: Wolf terror continues to grip Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district as a five-year-old was injured in the latest attack on Monday. The child was attacked in Girdharpurwa, part of Gram Panchayat Pandohiya, on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.
Fortunately, the attack didn't prove fatal for the minor girl and she was rushed to the Community Health Center (CHC) in Mahsi for treatment. Despite the presence of forest officials and efforts by them to capture them, wolves have continued their attacks in region. The incident has spread panic throughout the entire Mahsi area.
The child was attacked by the deadly predator on the neck. However, her screams alerted people nearby, who quickly came to her rescue. Her condition is not serious. Over the past 2 months, a pack of wolves have claimed 10 lives in this area, 9 of whom were children.
There have been continues wolf attacks in the Bahraich and Sitapur districts of UP. Sitapur has also witnessed one death in wolf hunting in the area. attacks. These wolves attack at night and disappear during the day.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered shoot-at-sight orders for the wolves.
4 Wolves Captured So Far
So far, forest officials have captured four man-eating wolves and two more are believed to be on prowl. The forest officials have intensified their efforts in locking these predators in cage.
In Bahraich district, 25 teams have been deployed to capture them. These include teams from the Bahraich, Katarniaghat, Shravasti, Gonda, and Barabanki forest divisions. Most of the wolf attacks have occurred in the Mahsi tehsil of Bahraich. In addition, two companies of the PAC (Provincial Armed Constabulary) are also assisting the forest department.
These wolves in Bahraich have become increasingly dangerous. Earlier on Sunday night, at around 1 AM, a 3-year-old girl sleeping next to her mother was taken away by a wolf and killed. Three such attacks were reported in the area in which two women sustained injuries. Sources said, the victim's mother screamed and ran after the wolf when it took the baby away, but it disappeared in the blink of an eye. A few hours later, the child's body was found one kilometer away from her home. The wolf had eaten both of her hands.
