Passenger Held From Boarding Area Of Kolkata Airport For Raising Hoax Bomb Threat

Kolkata: A person was detained by security ncies from boarding area of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata after he allegedly sent a hoax bomb threat. accused h allegedly claimed that re was a bomb on a plane at Kolkata Airport. security personnel apprehended man and interrogated him to ascertain motive behind sending bomb threat. 

According to police sources, security personnel at Kolkata airport were placed on high alert on Sunday after y received information from a passenger who suspected that a bomb could be planted on a private airline plane. passenger reportedly told CISF and IndiGo staff that he suspected that a bomb might have been planted on Kolkata-Chennai IndiGo flight 6E 892.

passenger, seated near gate number 18 at airport, suspected that a bomb was ticking inside a bag, an Airports Authority of India (AAI) spokesperson said and ded that it was later discovered that bag belonged to a woman employee of IndiGo.

" security personnel acted as per protocol, and passenger’s claim was found to be a hoax," spokesperson confirmed.

"re was bomb in woman's bag," spokesperson said and ded, " passenger, who was supposed to take same airline’s flight 6E-6173 to Agartala, was detained by CISF for giving false information." CISF will conduct a medical examination of passenger before handing him over to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose airport police station, AAI spokesperson said.
