Man Kills Wife By Slitting Her Throat In Delhi's Geeta Colony

A man in Delhi’s Geeta Colony area allegedly killed his wife by slitting her throat with a sharp object on Saturday on suspicion of an alleged illicit relation.

New Delhi: A man in Delhi’s Geeta Colony area allegedly killed his wife by slitting her throat with a sharp object on Saturday on suspicion of an alleged illicit relationship with another man. The incident took place at around 5.54 pm on Saturday in Delhi’s Shahdara district. On information, the Geeta Colony police rushed to the spot and shifted the blood-wrenched body of the deceased to the mortuary for post-mortem.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) identified the deceased as Sunita (27), a resident of Geeta Colony. The police have apprehended her husband identified as 32-year-old Kishan Lal and are interrogating him.

During the preliminary inquiry, the police found that Sunita was living separately from her husband at the same address. It is being said that the accused, Kishan Lal on Saturday came to meet Sunita at her address, where an argument broke out between the two, following which he killed his wife by slitting her throat.

As per the police, information regarding the murder was received at 5.54 pm, following which police reached the spot in Geeta Colony, where the doors were found locked from inside. The police broke open the door, where the victim was found lying in a pool of blood. She was immediately shifted to the hospital, where she was declared dead.

The body of the victim has been sent for post-mortem. The police have apprehended the accused husband and the knife used in the commission of crime has been seized.

Further legal action is being taken in the matter.
