Member of Lok Sabha and environmentalist Maneka Gandhi on Monday, November 18, won a lot of appreciation for her quick responses on a social media post regarding a suffering animal. Recently a journalist Bharti Jain tagged Maneka Gandhi on the microblogging site asking for her help for a severely injured monkey in Delhi.
Bharti shared the picture of the monkey and said, "This monkey is injured and in a very bad state. Please, some NGO or animal rights activists come forward to rescue him. This is near the Press Club of India at Raisina Road, New Delhi."
Maneka Gandhi in no time replied to Bharti's tweet and assured quick action would be taken to help the poor animal. Maneka Gandhi said, "Thank you for tagging me. I'm sending a car right now to have him sent to Sanjay Gandhi Animal Care Centre for treatment. The car will be there in a few minutes."
Later Bharti tweeted back updating the situation of the monkey, she said: "The monkey has been picked up and am sure is in good hands. Thanks!"
