A Maritime Search and Rescue Workshop was conducted for all stakeholders present in Andaman and Nicobar region. workshop was conducted by Indian Coast Guard of Andaman and Nicobar. Andaman and Nicobar islands Chief Secretary Chetan Bhushan Sanghi inaugurated workshop in presence of Inspector General MV Pathak, Commander Coast Guard Region (Andaman and Nicobar ). event witnessed participation of multiple Maritime - Search and Rescue (M-SAR) stakeholder organizations.
Speaking on occasion, Chief Secretary praised dedication and commitment of Coast Guard towards rendering selfless service while highlighting need to strengn M-SAR infrastructure and to refine procedures in light of planned expansion of maritime sector in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Sanghi also emphasized need to maintain synergy achieved between all stakeholders to realize a prompt response to any incident at sea. workshop was aimed at identifying gaps between 'expectations and capabilities' and thus was structured to present varied perspectives from M-SAR service provider, ministration, and Maritime Industry.

Participants from M-SAR stakeholder organisations, maritime industry, DGS/MMD, DGCA/AAI, DSS, PMB, Indian Registry of Shipping, Department of Fisheries, ISTRAC, INCOIS, DMA, CISF, Customs, Andaman Merchant club, Rep of sport fishing club among ors, actively contributed to discussions during event.

All participants and stakeholders asserted that workshop was unique and beneficial for both M-SAR service provider as well as maritime industry. panelists were felicitated after conclusion of workshop by Inspector General MV Pathak, Commander of Coast Guard Region of Andaman and Nicobar region.
