Bangladeshi intellectuals brutally killed
On this day in 1971, Bangladesh’s well-kwn academicians, doctors, engineers, journalists, artists, teachers along with or rewned personalities were t only dragged out of ir homes but were reportedly blindfolded to take to unkwn places followed by torture and murder. On December 13, Bangladesh President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid ir deep respects and tributes to ‘best sons’ of nation. In a separate mess on eve of day, both Bangladesh President and PM called for nation to unite and being imbued with ideology of intellectuals that lost ir lives along with spirit of Liberation War to build a n-communal “Sonar Bangla”.

Hamid also ted, in his mess that intellectuals are main conscience of nation and y had played a significant role with writing and spirit to mobilise public opinion in favour of Liberation War. However, Bangladeshi PM added that it was ‘unfortunate’ that occupation forces and its local collaborators had brutally killed intellectuals and or litterateurs just on eve of victory.
