Mauritius PM Pravind Kumar Jugnauth in Varanasi for 'asthi visarjan'

The PM of Mauritius and his wife arrived at the Kashi Vishwanath temple later in the evening. They took part in a special pooja and aarti in the temple.

A day after G20 Summit in New Delhi came to an end, Mauritius' Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth conducted prayers at Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi, Uttar Presh. Having attended two-day G20 conference, Jugnauth and his wife Kobita Rambanee arrived in Varanasi on Monday morning. re, y received a hearty welcome before being brought to Dashashwamedh Ghat, where y offered prayers.

When y arrived at temple, chief executive officer, Sunil Kumar Verma, and trustee, Brij Bhushan Ojha, welcomed m with a garland, scarf, pras, and a souvenir.

Nikhilesh Kumar Mishra, ditional Chief Executive Officer of temple, Shambhu Sharan, SDM, and a significant number of authorities and worshippers were present at this time.

Prime Minister of Mauritius, Pravind Jugnauth, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a bilateral meeting after travelling to New Delhi for G20 Summit.

During conversation, PM Modi reaffirmed India's dedication to amplifying voices of Global South. Mauritius Prime Minister ackwledged India's assistance for Mauritian ecomy during meeting on Friday and highlighted that New Delhi was very first nation to enter into a deal with Port Louis, ANI reported.

PM Jugnauth while talking about Mauritius-India tre relations said, "India has signed first agreement with first country in Africa with Mauritius. Comprehensive Ecomic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) is ar testimony of consideration that India has for Mauritius. This has w opened up new avenues for tre between two countries...It is beneficial to both countries..." 

Meanwhile, Mauritius and India commemorated 75 years of diplomatic ties in 2023. Talking about 75 years of relationship, Jugnauth said, “I think in itself, it is a milestone that needs to be celebrated and also a testimony of how this relationship has been strengning throughout years so that we have reached a situation today where I can say that never before has this relationship reached such heights,”
