Mayapuri: 9 cows rescused from inhumane conditions in New Delhi

Delhi Police has recused 9 cows on September 14, 2019. cows were being transported illegally in a tempo in Mayapuri locality of West Delhi, officials said. Two police personnel were patrolling area on ir bike when at 4 am y spotted a tempo that was fully covered, y added. Upon suspicion, policemen asked driver to stop vehicle, instead of stopping, driver accelerated and tried to flee.

Men standing on back of tempo pelted stones at police
y chased driver of vehicle on ir bike. However, re were about 3 men standing on back of tempo who began pelting stones at m, police said. During chase, tempo hit bike and led to policemen falling down and suffering mir injuries. policemen fired 5 shots at tyres of tempo but y mand to flee away, said a senior police officer.
Cows were rescued from inhumane conditions
A little while later, police succeeded in finding tempo at Bali Nagar and rescued 9 cows that had been tied with ropes and were unwell, officer added. cows were sent to Sanjay Gandhi Animal Care Hospital for treatment. Efforts are on to nab accused, he said, furr adding that a case has been registered against accused under relevant sections of IPC and section 3 of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. Section 3 of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act state that Duties of persons having charge of animals, implies that it shall be duty of every person having care or charge of any animal to take all reasonable measures to ensure well-being of such animals, and to prevent infliction upon such animal of unnecessary pain or suffering.
