Station House Officer Jitendra Kumar told PTI that FIR was filed based on statement provided by Anshumali Vashishth, general secretary of Animal Care Society.

two accused, Shobha and Aarti, have been booked under Section 325 of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act (mischief by killing or maiming animal) in case lodged at Kankerkheda police station.
"Furr legal action will follow upon investigation," Kumar said.

According to complaint, incident took place on vember 5 in Sant Nagar Colony on Rohta Ro.
Vashishth claimed that a street dog h recently given birth to five puppies, which were allegedly targeted by accused women. y poured petrol on puppies and set m on fire.

On Friday, representatives of Meerut Vyapar Mandal met Circle Officer (CO) Daurala Shuchita Singh to bring incident to his attention and demand strict action against women involved.
