Jammu: In the wake of recent attacks and encounters in the Jammu region, high-level discussions are underway in Kathua. Prominent figures such as DGP Jammu and Kashmir Police R R Swain, Punjab counterpart Gaurav Yadav, Special Director General of Border Security Force (BSF) Western Command Y B Khurania, and other top security officials are deeply involved in these deliberations.
An official told Republic TV that Jaish e Mohammad (JeM) terrorists are believed to have successfully infiltrated through the international border, reaching the dense forests of Machedi. This area connects Basanth, where suspicious movement was observed yesterday, and Bhaderwah in the Doda district, where an anti-terror operation is already underway post-Kathua attack. There are reportedly two to three groups of highly trained terrorists with US-made M4 and AK-series weapons active in the region, and forces are determined to neutralise them at the earliest.
