Microsoft Outage: List of Services Affected in India

AIRLINES

Primarily, the Microsoft Global Outage has affected the flight operations across the world including India.

Delhi's IGI Airport, Bengaluru Airport, Chennai Airport, Lucknow Airport and Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Airport are part of the list of airports, where flight operations are affected.

Airlines including IndiGo, SpiceJet, Akasa Air, Vistara and Air India have issued travel advisories for the passengers.

As check-in systems remain disrupted, a lot of ground staff at the airports is handing over handwritten boarding passes to passengers.

MICROSOFT APPLICATIONS AND SERVICES

In India, apart from the airlines, there has been a direct hit at the Microsoft applications including Microsoft 365, Microsoft Team, and Microsoft Azure.

The Microsoft apps and services are not working and multiple users are facing issues in India.

The list of apps include - OneDrive and OneNote, Outlook, Xbox App, PowerBI and Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365 Admin Center and Microsoft Purview and Viva Engage.

The SBI Chief has confirmed that the bank services have not been affected and also, there is no problem in the functioning of the National Stock Exchange (NSE). 

Services That Are Fully Recovered

Services reported as fully recovered include:

  • Microsoft Defender: Users faced intermittent access issues and detection delays of up to two hours.
  • Microsoft Defender for Endpoint: Admins and users experienced API request failures and errors on the Alerts page.
  • Microsoft Intune: Users faced device check-in failures, syncing issues, and problems with device enrollment.
  • Microsoft OneNote: Users were unable to sync content, experienced delays, or couldn't open notebooks.
  • OneDrive for Business: Users were unable to access content.
  • SharePoint Online: Users faced access issues.
  • Windows 365: Admins had difficulties managing Cloud PCs, and end users couldn't access their Cloud PCs in the affected region.
