MLA suspended for sexual harassment charges to be reinstated in CPI(M)
The CPI(M) state committee has approved to reinstate MLA who was suspended for sexual harassment. MLA was suspended in 2018 as a committee found him guilty

state committee of CPI(M) has approved reinstatement of MLA PK Sasi who h been suspended after being accused of sexual harassment. This decision comes after a recommendation by a central team to district committee which also cleared decks for his return. On Thursday, state committee of CPM accepted report to revoke MLA's suspension.
CPI(M) leer suspended on accounts of Sexual Harassment
In vember 2018, PK Sasi h been suspended for a period of six months after an internal two-member committee h found him guilty of sexual harassment. A complaint of making sexual overtures in a telephonic conversation was filed with office-bearers of CPM Kerala unit. After a two-member team led by central committee member A K Balan h investigated allegations and in vember, submitted a report which held him guilty of charges. Basis report Sasi h been stripped of his primary membership of party and suspended for a period of six months.

Demand for PK Sasi's return
complainant, however, has refrained from filing a police case after she h decided to take up matter only within party. Post disciplinary action expired in May this year, clamour within party was growing for his return. Palakk district committee me way for his homecoming and have even inducted him into district committee. It has been confirmed that Sasi will be taking part in Palakk committee meeting slated to take place later this week.

Complainant alleges MLA supporters harassing her
complainant who has chosen to be anymous so far quit DYFI close to three months ago alleging that supporters of Sasi h been targeting her and those who h stood by her side. Alleging that politburo did t act on her multiple complaints, complainant has resigned from her membership of Palakk district unit. issue of bringing back Sasi h divided state and district units of CPI(M), thus causing a delay since expiry of his suspension in May. It is learnt that leers like MB Rajesh, TK Narayanas and M Chandran have been strongly raising objections to return of Sasi, citing im of party and safety of or women members who may feel endangered.

Opposition slams CPI(M)
opposition parties in Kerala, Congress and BJP have hit out at ruling CPI(M) calling ir stand on women’s rights a farce. Saying that party’s stand in Sasi’s case exposes hypocrisy of CPI(M), BJP district unit’s women’s wing is deliberating staging a protest to show solidarity with complainant.
