Mobile phone services restored in five districts of Jammu region
After over three weeks of restrictions in J&K following the revocation of Article 370, mobile phone services have finally been restored in 5 districts of Jammu.

After over three weeks of severe restrictions in Jammu and Kashmir following revocation of Article 370, mobile phone services were finally restored in five districts of Jammu on night of August 28. districts where mobile services have been restored include Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Rajouri, and Poonch. Tight security arrangements have been in place in state since government anunced its decision to end special status and split state into two union territories. Officials anunced that all restrictions will be lifted in phases.

Phone lines to open in 5 more districts
Jammu and Kashmir Goverr Satya Pal Malik on Wednesday anunced that mobile phone lines will be reopened in all 10 districts of Jammu (barring one location) and entire revenue district of Kura and Handwara Police districts in Kashmir Valley. anuncements also included reopening of landline connections in Kashmir Valley. Mobile services in Valley were suspended as se facilities were used against country and mostly exploited by terrorists and Pakistani forces, said Goverr.

Governer Malik said, "Telephones and Internet connections are of very little use to us. y were being used more by Pakistani forces and terrorists, and that was why we put restrictions on m."

Security first
J&K Goverr ded that priority for government was to make sure that re is loss of life even if that meant snapping mobile services for 10 days.
"Our attitude is such that re should be loss of human lives. If re's telephone for 10 days, so be it. But we will roll back se measures very soon," he quoted on Monday.

50,000 vacancies across various government departments
Speaking about upcoming developments for Union Territories, Government said that about 50,000 vacancies across various government departments will be filled on priority in coming months. Assuring people about sovereignty, goverr said that decision will t hamper ir culture but rar preserve it. This was Goverr's first press conference after Centre anunced its decision to abrogate Jammu and Kashmir's special status and divide state into two union territories.
