New Delhi: As Prime Minister Narendra Modi completed the first 100 days of his third consecutive term on Tuesday, the BJP -led NDA government announced that it has approved infrastructure projects worth Rs 3 lakh crore so far. These include linking 25,000 unconnected villages to road networks and the construction of a mega port at Wadhawan in Maharashtra , Home Minister Amit Shah announced on Tuesday.

The Wadhawan Mega Port in Maharashtra has been approved with a budget of Rs 76,200 crore, and it is set to become one of the top 10 ports in the world. Under the Prime Minister's Rural Roads Scheme-4 (PMGSY-IV), the government has also sanctioned the construction and upgrading of 62,500 km of roads and bridges to connect 25,000 previously unconnected villages, backed by central assistance of Rs 49,000 crore. Many of these villages have populations of fewer than 100 people.

Meanwhile, Rs 50,600 crore has also been allocated to strengthen India's road network, including approval for eight National High-Speed Road Corridor Projects spanning 936 km.

Speaking on the achievements of PM Modi-led NDA government, Shah said, "For the first time after independence, the world saw a government that India had a spine in its foreign policy. 60 crores of Indians got houses, toilets, gas, drinking water, electricity, 5 kg free ration and health services up to 5 lakhs. Our goal is that when we go into the elections the next time, there would be no one who does not own a house."

In addition to infrastructure, the government has also focused on agriculture by increasing the minimum support price (MSP) for Kharif crops, removing the minimum export price (MEP) on onions and basmati rice, and raising the import duty on crude palm, soybean, and sunflower oils, Shah said at a press conference, accompanied by Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw .

Prime Minister Modi assumed office for his third term on June 9 this year. According to Shah, the government's approach has been to provide policy stability while allowing flexibility for necessary adjustments without altering core objectives.

The government has also launched a new fund called Agrisure, aimed at transforming the agricultural sector and supporting startups and rural enterprises.
