Modi-Xi Summit: PM Modi lauds Tamil Nadu for hospitality
Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded his two-day informal summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The summit was held in Tamil Nadu at Mahabalipuram.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday concluded his two-day informal summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The summit was held in Tamil Nadu at Mahabalipuram Town. Apart from the informal talks, PM Modi also gave the Xi Jinping a tour of all the monuments which have been declared as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Following the second informal summit, PM Modi thanked the people of Tamil Nadu.

Prime Minister Modi on Twitter commended the hospitality showered upon him by the people of Tamil Nadu. He said that being in Tamil Nadu was a delight. In addition, he also thanked the Tamil Nadu government for their assistance in organizing the summit.
PM Modi on importance of Tamil Nadu in Indo-China ties
Prime Minister Modi also spoke about the importance of Tamil Nadu in cementing the ties between the two neighbours. He said that Tamil Nadu and Chennai symbolized the deep cultural and commercial linkages between the two countries. PM Modi also expressed pride when he introduced Xi Jinping to many relevant examples pertaining to cultural heritage. In addition, he also said that 'Chennai Connect' would usher in a new era of co-operation.
The Modi-Xi summit
The Indian and Chinese leaders held their second informal summit in Mamallapuram. On the first day of the Modi-Xi summit, both leaders had five hours of discussions apart from exploring the place. In the meeting, they spoke about issues related to terrorism and radicalization. Both leaders also tried to identify potential areas and opportunities for investment. In fact, before the commencement of the visit itself, 129 MoUs were signed between the Indian and Chinese companies. Saturday was marked by PM Modi’s one-on-one meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. This was later followed by lunch hosted in the honour of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
