President of China, Xi Jinping has arrived in Chennai for the second informal summit. He is accompanied by a huge delegation of more than 80 govt officials.

President of China, Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday have arrived in Chennai for second informal summit at Mamallapuram near Chennai on October 11 and October 12. Along with President Xi, a number of or leers and officials have accompanied him for this visit to India. President Xi has come with a huge delegation of more than 80 government officials including several ministers. PM Modi and President Xi will be spending three hours both on Friday and Saturday.  bilateral meet is scheduled for Saturday.

Xi Jinping's entour includes Ding Xuexiang, member of Political Bureau of Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, member of Secretariat of CPC Central Committee, and director of General Office of CPC Central Committee, Yang Jiechi, member of Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee and Director of Office of Foreign Affairs Commission of CPC Central Committee, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi and He Lifeng, vice chairman of National Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Chairman of National Development and Reform Commission.

China's 'Asian Century' statement

Ahe of his arrival of Chinese President Xi Jinping in Chennai, Chinese state-run media has me a big statement on India-China relations. In an article published in China's mouthpiece Global Times, China has said that 21st century cant be Asia's century without cooperation of two countries.

"Chinese companies have in recent years proactively participated in India's initiatives, such as "Make in India" and "Digital India," expanding investment in country's industrial parks and e-commerce, creating substantial job opportunities in India. India's investment in China is also rising," article res.
