Money laundering case: Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik reaches ED office after multiple summons
After receiving multiple summon, Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik reached the ED office for questioning in connection with a money laundering case

Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik on Thursday reached office of Enforcement Directorate for questioning in connection with a money laundering case. Both Sarnaik and his son Vihang have been summoned multiple times for ir alleged connections with private security firm TOPS group, which is under ED scanner.
Previously, Ovala-Majiwa MLA did t answer ED summons citing that he was quarantined. On vember 26, ncy arrested Sarnaik's close associate Amit Chandole. He remained ED custody till vember 29, before court remanded him to judicial custody. As per reports, ncy is likely to move Bombay High Court, seeking Chandole's custody for more days.

ED conducts raids at Sarnaik's premises
On vember 25, ED carried out searches at offices and residential premises associated with Pratap Sarnaik and a private security firm in connection with a money-laundering investigation.

In case registered under Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 10 locations in Mumbai and Thane were raided. As per sources, ncy seized electronic evidence including a computer. Subsequently, Sarnaik's son Vihang was taken to ED office in Mumbai and interrogated for nearly five hours. Sources ded that Vihang Sarnaik was interrogated regarding alleged transactions from foreign locations and money trail.

Sena-BJP spat over ED summons
Terming raids as "dirty politics", Sena MP Sanjay Raut accused BJP of misusing investigative ncies. He asserted that Maha Vikas Aghi government will remain in power for next 25 years.
NCP supremo Shar Pawar also slammed Centre for seeking to “demoralise ruling alliance”. However, Congress leer Sanjay Nirupam caused some embarrassment for state government by alleging that some Shiv Sena leers have been involved in corruption.

Previously, former Maharashtra CM Devendra Fnavis took a dig at Shiv Sena MLA for skipping ED summons. BJP leer opined that it would have been appropriate for Sarnaik to appear before investigative ncy and clear his position on allegations against him.
