New Delhi: Prime Miniser Narendra Modi on Sunday, October 27, addressed the 115th edition of the 'Mann Ki Baat' radio program and hailed the contribution of Indian content creators in world of animation in global context. Prime Miniser Modi's address also found mention of famous Indian animated characters, including 'Chhota Bheem', 'Krishna', 'Motu-Patlu' and 'Bal Hanuman.'

The Prime Minister acknowledged India's progress in the field of animation & gaming and said, "... Like Chhota Bheem, our other animated series Krishna, Motu-Patlu, Bal Hanuman also have fans all over the world. India's animated characters and films are being liked all over the world due to their content and creativity..."

He added, "India is on the way to bringing a revolution in the field of animation. India's gaming space is also growing rapidly. Indian games are also becoming famous all over the world."

The Prime Minister praised the Indian talents for being "self-reliant" and reflecting Indian culture by creating their original content.

Heaping praises for India's deep involvement in technology sector, PM Modi said, ""Self-reliance has not only become our policy, it has become our passion. It was not very long ago, just 10 years ago, when if someone said that some complex technology was being developed in India, many people would not believe it and many would ridicule it. But today the same people are amazed to see the success of the country. India, which is becoming self-reliant, is doing wonders in every field."

"...Today, our youths are creating original Indian content which has a reflection of our culture. They are being watched worldwide. The animation sector has today taken a form of an industry that is giving strength to other industries. Virtual Reality tourism today is getting famous… On October 28, World Animation Day will be celebrated. We must resolve to make India, a global animation powerhouse," he added.

PM Modi on Digital Arrest

PM Modi spoke about the cyber crime of "digital arrests", noting that it has hit all sections of society and urging people to adopt the mantra of "stop, think and take action" when faced with such a scam.

During his 'Mann ki Baat' broadcast, Modi said probe agencies are working with states to deal with the issue but added that awareness is essential in protecting oneself from this crime.

The prime minister played a representative video to show how such criminals pose as probe agency officials to prey on people's fear after gathering detailed information about their potential victims.

He said, "Beware of Digital Arrest frauds.No investigative agency will ever contact you by phone or video call for such an investigation." Modi asked people to dial 1930 to connect with national cyber helpline or connect with its portal and also inform police about such a crime.

They should record such conversations and also take screenshots, he said touching on the crime which has been frequently reported.

The effort for an 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' is also making strides in every sector, he said, noting that the country is exporting its defence products to over 85 countries now.
