MP Flood: State Government seeks Rs 11,906 cr relief fund from Centre

Madhya Pradesh Govt officials have notified the central team of the losses faced by the state to seek for immediate financial aid for rehabilitation purposes

Madhya Pradesh has recently suffered a loss of Rs. 11,906 crore during floods. State Government officials have tified central team to seek for immediate financial aid for rehabilitation purposes.  officials have made a request for financial assistance of Rs. 11,906 crore to Madhya Pradesh before central team headed by Sandeep Poundrik. Poundrik is  joint secretary of  National Disaster Manment Authority. He is currently on a visit to  State. Rakesh Singh, state BJP Chief, had earlier alleged that Congress Government has 'turned a deaf ear' to problems being faced by farmers and or people due to heavy downpour and subsequent floods in MP.

MP heavily affected by downpour 

Three dozen districts have been gravely affected by floods and  downpour in state. figure is loosely based on initial assessment of  dam which was a consequence of  heavy rains. rainfall and floods have already claimed over 225 lives so far. officials on September 19 held a meeting with central team members and tified m of huge losses. officials stated that 36 of 52 districts have suffered serious losses due to heavy rains and floods. Furrmore,  central team is scheduled to investigate  losses in Vidisha, Raisen, Rajgarh, Mandsaur, and Agar Malwa districts.

8,000 vills affected

Reports have come in of over 8,000 vills across 36 out of 52 districts in State being affected by incessant rains and floods. floods have damd crops on 24 lakh hectares of land, which furr affected devasted farmers.  dam caused to crops has been estimated to be around Rs 9,600 crore.  roads have also suffered as a consequence of floods. Public Relations Department Officer furr stated that Central team was tified that 225 people and 1,400 cattle were killed in heavy rains, floods, and lightning.
