MP Police recover Rs 13.7 lakhs from vehicle as EC calls to ensure playing field

Mhya Presh Police seized Rs 13,72,000 from a vehicle in Civil Lines neighbourhood of Chhatarpur district on Friday. police claimed that a sizable amount was found in a vehicle during rigorous vehicle checking that was being done ahe of assembly elections in state. vehicle has been impounded by police, who also seized total sum of money. y are also looking into any potential political ties to money, which has been seized. Along with money, some documents were also recovered by police, which are being examined.
Kamlesh Sahu, police station in-charge at Civil Lines, while speaking to news agency ANI said, "Today during vehicle checking, Rs 13 lakh and 72 thousand have been recovered from a vehicle, which has been seized by Civil Lines Police. money recovered is being investigated to see if it has any political connection. investigation is still going on. Some documents have also been recovered along with this money, which is also being investigated."

EC calls for increased preparedness
Election Commission on Friday held a meeting of observers. During meeting, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar asked m to verify that threat of money power was equately managed before issuing calendar for assembly elections in five states.
