'Adhere to lockdown rules during Ramadan':Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi urges the Muslim community

Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has appealed to all Indian Muslims to stay indoors and strictly adhere to the guidelines of lockdown during Ramadan

Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has appealed to all Indian Muslims to stay indoors and strictly here to guidelines of lockdown and social distancing during holy month of Raman. festival month is set to start from 24 April. Naqvi, who is also Chairman of Central Waqf Council ( regulatory body of state Waqf boards in India), informed that more than 7 lakh registered mosques, dargah and or religious institutions come under state waqf boards across country. tably, most of Muslim nations including Saudi Arabia, have deunced mass garing during Raman at religious places.

'Directed to take an effective approach'

Union Minister Naqvi said, " state waqf boards, through Central Waqf Council, have been directed to take an effective approach to ensure that people do t gar at religious and or places under any circumstances during holy month of Raman. re is a need to take help of various religious and social organisations, people and local ministration in this regard. se religious and social organisations and personalities need to co-operate with local ministration in strict and effective implementation of lockdown and social distancing during holy month of Raman."

Naqvi also said, "Pro-active, effective and positive efforts of state waqf boards and religious-social organisations ensured Muslims of country observed Shab-e-Barat on 8th and 9th April by offering prayers and performing all or religious rituals on occasion staying inside ir homes." In view of challenges of Coronavirus pandemic, co-operation of Indian Muslims in implementation of guidelines of lockdown and social distancing, strictly and honestly, on occasion of Shab-e-Barat has been laudable.

Union Minister furr ded, "re is a need to make people aware so that y perform all religious rituals staying inside ir homes during holy month of Raman and follow lockdown and social distancing rms. Such efforts are t only needed at mosques and or religious places, but also at or public as well as individual places where Muslims gar during holy month of Raman to perform religious rituals." He went on to say that entire country is seriously and honestly following guidelines of lockdown and social distancing on appeal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
