Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi slams Cong over CAA, says PM Modi, Shah's claims are 'crystal clear'
Union Minister of Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said PM Modi and Amit Shah’s claims on CAA are “crystal clear”, and Oppn is spreading disinformation.

Union Minister of Mirity Affairs, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, on Wednesday, reiterated PM Modi and HM Amit Shah’s claims on CAA and said that it is “crystal clear”. Stressing on fact that Citizenship (Amendment) Act h thing to do with Indian citizens, Naqvi also targeted Opposition for spreing lies and creating unrest. He also said that opposition needs to learn about Act first.
Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi slams Congress
Slamming Congress Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, “This is a ploy by Congress and ir allies, y are creating fear and distracting people from truth. y want to fool people and politicise issue. We should understand one thing, whatever PM Modi and HM Amit Shah have said is crystal clear. This Act does t question any Indian citizen’s citizenship. This is t a threat to anybody’s nationality. social, constitutional and religious rights of all citizens are completely safe."
“People who are trying to create unrest and disturbance in society are destroying spirit and brorhood of nation. People should understand difference between fake and fabricated information. When y didn't get mandate to form government, y are trying to hijack Republic of India by resorting to forceful means,” he ded.

‘Bill t for Indian citizens’
Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi furr ded, “re is attempt to divide nation on lines of religion. se people are uneducated. y need to learn about Act first. re is threat to anyone, neir is re any discrimination of any sort. This Act is t even for citizens of India, it is for persecuted communities and refugees outside India."

Citizenship (Amendment) Act
Act seeks to provide citizenship to mirity communities namely Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians from Afghanistan, Banglesh and Pakistan. This will be applicable to members of se communities having arrived in India on or before December 31, 2014. Moreover, y will t be considered as illegal migrants.

ditionally, mandatory residence period for naturalised citizenship for se communities would be reduced to 5 years. Several parties in rth East such as All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) have been vehemently opposed to this Bill. To ameliorate ir concerns, Centre has exempted a major part of rth East from ambit of CAA. opposition contends that Bill discriminates on basis of religion, which might go against Article 14, which guarantees right to equality.
