Mumbai Horror: 2-Year-Old Girl Allegedly Raped, Killed By Stepfather In Mankhurd

Mumbai: A 2-year-old girl was allegedly raped and brutally murdered by his stepfar in Mumbai's Mankhurd area leaving everyone shocked in area. On information, Mumbai police launched a manhunt and nabbed accused, a 23-year-old man, who is a tempo driver. According to police, incident took place on Thursday and accused was arrested next day. 

A senior police official stated that child’s mor works as a house help, and married accused after separating from her first husband. y were living in a rented house in a chawl. 

incident took place on Thursday evening when girl’s mor was away at work. According to police, accused man allegedly beat girl when one was at home and sexually assaulted her. It is alleged that accused gagged child during his inhumane act, and inserted a wooden object into her private part, before strangling her to death. 

“After child died, accused man concocted a story to save himself. He called up his wife and told her that a wooden block h fallen on girl and she was lying unconscious. Her mor rushed back home and, along with accused, took girl to nearby public hospital. At hospital, girl was declared de,” a senior police officer said.

police were informed, and as woman became suspicious of her second husband, she fought with him at hospital. police detained him and subjected him to sustained interrogation, during which he mitted to having killed girl, police said.

A preliminary probe revealed accused man hated child as she was from his wife’s first husband, a police officer said. He also told police that he viewed girl as an obstacle between him and his wife. Hence he was frustrated with her and on Thursday killed her.

“ accused was immediately arrested and was produced in court. court has remanded him to police custody. We have arrested accused on charges of murder, among ors, and are furr investigating matter,” said Navnath Dhavale, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 6.

police have arrested accused man under sections 103(3), 64(2)(F), 64(2)(1), 64(2)(m), 65(2), 66, and 238 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and 4, 6, 8, and 10 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Though police have invoked sections of POCSO Act in case, y are yet to get a report and confirmation on allegations of sexual assault from doctors.
