Mumbai: Mumbai local train commuters are expected to face disruptions due to a "mega block" currently being implemented on the Western Railway line this weekend. The 10-hour block, scheduled for September 7-8 is part of the construction work for the 6th railway line between Goregaon and Kandivali. This block will affect the Up and Down Slow lines, as well as the Down Fast line, leading to significant changes in train services.

The Western Railway has announced the cancellation of 52 local train services, along with 18 partial cancellations. Mail and Express trains may experience delays of 10 to 20 minutes. During the block, UP Slow line trains will operate on the UP Fast line between Borivali and Goregaon, while Down Slow line trains will run on the Down Fast line from Andheri to Goregaon.

Date and Time of Mumbai Local Mega Block:

  • Block starts: Midnight, September 7, 2024
  • Block ends: 10:00 AM, September 8, 2024

Trains cancelled due to Mumbai Mega Block:

  • 52 local train services cancelled
  • 18 services partially cancelled
  • Mail and Express trains delayed by 10-20 minutes

Train Diversions due to Mumbai Mega Block:

  • UP Slow line trains will run on the UP Fast line between Borivali and Goregaon
  • Down Slow line trains will run on the Down Fast line from Andheri
  • Trains won’t stop at Ram Mandir , Malad, and Kandivali due to platform constraints

Commuters are advised to plan ahead for potential delays and cancellations, and to allow extra travel time during this period to accommodate the disruptions.
