Mumbai has experienced waterlogging after heavy rainfall in several parts of the city. King Circle railway station and Gandhi market have reportedly suffered extreme water-logging as a consequence of continuous rain. IMD authorities had earlier stipulated high rainfall for Mumbai the next couple of days. BMC has asked schools remain shut on Wednesday and authorities have been asked to take the necessary precautions to send school children back home safely. 

Mumbai police had earlier warned the citizens of heavy rainfall in the city. Mumbaikars have been asked to dial 100 in case of an emergency. Incessant rains have flooded many areas where necessary measures are to be taken in case of an unexpected scenario.

The weather forecast

The IMD has predicted a maximum temperature of 29 degrees Celcius and minimum temperatures of 24 degrees Celcius. IMD has predicted heavy rainfalls in the city and suburbs. IMD has also envisaged intermittent rain in the city.

Traffic and Railway updates 

Mumbai woke up to water-logged streets and submerged railway tracks on the morning of September 4. IMD has issued an orange alert for Mumbai and some parts of Maharashtra. Traffic has been diverted as a consequence of water-logged streets. The train routes have also slowed, with the trains operating on a delay.
