2 Mumbai-Bound Vistara Flights Diverted to Ahmedabad Due to Bad Weather; IMD Issues Rain Alert

Vistara flight flying to Mumbai from Amritsar and Delhi have been diverted to Ahmedabad due to bad weather; the IMD has also issued a rain alert for the city.

Mumbai: Amid rain alerts by India Meteorological Department (IMD), Mumbai-bound Vistara flights from Amritsar and Delhi respectively, has been diverted to Ahmedab due to b wear at Mumbai Airport.

Mumbai-Bound Vistara Flight From Amritsar Diverted to Ahmedab

In an official statement, Vistara has said, “Flight UK696 from Amritsar to Mumbai (ATQ-BOM) has been diverted to Ahmedab (AMD) due to b wear at Mumbai airport.”

Mumbai Rains: IMD Issues Alert

Mumbai is under an orange alert with forecasts of heavy to very heavy rainfall in certain areas. Similarly, Thane and Palghar districts face an orange alert, while Raig district is on red alert, anticipating heavy to very heavy rainfall with isolated instances of extremely heavy rain.

Mumbai and its metropolitan region were hit by heavy rains on July 20, causing waterlogging in several areas. Andheri Subway was temporarily closed due to flooding.

While local trains remained on track, BEST bus routes were diverted due to b wear and several low-lying areas of city remained waterlogged.

High Tide Expected at 11:18 PM in Mumbai

A high tide of 3.66 metres is expected at 11.18 pm, a wear official said.

city received 91 mm rainfall in 24-hour period ending 8 am on Saturday, while its eastern and western suburbs recorded 87 mm and 93 mm rainfall respectively, India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
