Mumbai Traffic Police have issued a critical advisory for commuters, highlighting significant traffic disruptions expected around the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) due to the Global Fintech Fest 2024, which is being held at the Jio World Convention Centre.

The high-profile event, scheduled from August 28 to August 30, is anticipated to draw large crowds, resulting in heavy vehicular movement in the area. Traffic authorities have warned that from 9 am to 8 pm until August 30, BKC will experience increased congestion, potentially leading to prolonged travel times for those passing through the area. Commuters are advised to "avoid the BKC thoroughfare during these hours."

To alleviate congestion, the Traffic Police have recommended alternative routes. The Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR), the Santa Cruz-Chembur Link Road (SCLR), and the Eastern Freeway are suggested as viable options to circumvent the traffic bottleneck.

Authorities are actively working to manage traffic flow and minimize disruptions. Commuters are encouraged to plan their journeys in advance, allow extra time for their commutes, or consider using public transportation where possible.

Earlier today, traffic authorities urged commuters to use alternate routes via SCLR and the Eastern Freeway due to heavy traffic on the Eastern Express Highway.

In addition, on Tuesday, the city witnessed traffic snarls caused by ‘Dahi Handi’ celebrations. Dahi Handis hung at prominent intersections and junctions, along with haphazardly parked two-wheelers and other vehicles belonging to Govinda groups, further exacerbated the traffic woes.

For real-time updates and traffic conditions, commuters are advised to check the Mumbai Traffic Police’s official social media platforms.
