Worli Hit-And-Run: Mihir Shah, the main suspect in the Worli hit-and-run case in Mumbai, and his two friends drank a total of 12 large pegs of whiskey, with each having about four pegs, as reported by excise officials citing the bar bill. Reports claimed that such a quantity of alcohol can lead to intoxication lasting up to eight hours. Shah and his friends left the bar at 1:30 am on Sunday, and the accident took place around 5 am, just four hours after their drinking session.
Following the hit-and-run case, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) took action on Wednesday against the Juhu-based Vice-Global Tapas Bar, which Shah had visited. The BMC demolished 3,500 square feet of what they identified as unauthorized construction at the bar.

Moreover, the state excise department suspended the bar's license for serving alcohol to Shah, who is under the legal drinking age of 25 and found other alleged regulatory violations at the establishment, officially listed as Don Giovanni Restaurant, Jobel Hospitalities Pvt Ltd.

Mumbai Worli Hit-And-Run: What Happened So Far
- Driving License Claim: Mihir Shah has claimed to possess a driving license, but the police have yet to recover the document, according to news agency PTI.
- Reckless Driving: After hitting a two-wheeler, Shah was aware that a woman was trapped under his car but continued driving recklessly, ignoring signals and shouts from other motorists urging him to stop, a police official said.
- Interrogation Details: During questioning, Shah admitted to driving at the time of the crash but did not disclose when he started driving or the route taken. He reportedly abandoned the car at Kala Nagar and fled the scene fearing public backlash, and his family also left their home due to concerns about public assault.
- Custody Request: In Dadar court, the Mumbai Police sought Shah’s custody, alleging that he attempted to mislead the investigation by altering his appearance and that he tried to destroy the BMW’s number plate with Rajrishi Bidawat.
- Evasion and Communication: The police claimed that Shah avoided answering crucial questions, such as whether he was intoxicated during the crash. Reports also indicated that he made 40 calls to his girlfriend before leaving the car, who may also be questioned by the authorities.

In the early hours of Sunday, a woman died after the two-wheeler she was on with her husband was struck by a BMW in Mumbai's Worli area. The victim, identified as Kaveri Nakhwa (45), was riding with her husband Pradip on Annie Besant Road when the driver of the luxury car, Mihir Shah lost control. Kaveri fell onto the road, and passersby alerted the police. She was taken to Nair Hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival. Kaveri and her husband, who are fisherfolk, were returning home from Sassoon Dock in Colaba.
