Mumbai's Wockhardt Hospital declared 'containment zone' after 30 staff test Covid positive

Mumbai's Wockhardt Hospital became the staggering epicenter in the city after a total of 30 doctors and medical staff tested positive for Coronavirus.

In thick of Coronavirus outbreak,  Mumbai's Wockhardt Hospital became staggering epicenter in city after a total of 30 doctors and medical staff tested positive for COVID-19 in span of a week. Subsequently jolting into action, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) declared hospital as a containment zone following positive reports of 26 nurses and 4 doctors. 

In hospital, that has w been sealed w, one will be allowed to leave or enter premises unless all patients test negative for vel virus twice consecutively. Currently, 270 medical staff members are put under quarantine at hospital, with ir samples undergoing testing.  Wockhardt Hospital became epicenter of virus in Mumbai with a soar of 30 cases, thus taking tally higher than most BMC wards in city. Following grim development, Republic sources informed that patients currently being treated at Wockhardt Hospital will be moved out.

This comes at a time when healthcare professions are already facing dire situations, with rising criticism over lack of provisions for protective medical gear to tackle viral pandemic. Congress on Saturday lambasted government stating that health professionals were 'risking ir lives without proper care' amid health crisis. party furr ted that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) manufacturers in India had claimed 'delayed response' from government to tackle global pandemic. Sharing multiple news reports through video, Congress party furr underlined that more doctors and medical staff were getting infected with Coronavirus. 

Maharashtra Coronavirus Cases 

On Monday morning, 33 more cases were detected in Maharashtra, taking state tally up to 781.  death toll due to vel coronavirus rose to 109 and number of cases in country climbed to 4,067 on Monday, according to Union Health Ministry. While number of active COVID-19 cases stands at 3,666, as many as 291 people were cured and discharged, and one has migrated, it stated. total number of cases includes 65 foreign nationals.
