BJP working President JP Nadda, while speaking about the Supreme Court judgement on the Contempt case against Rahul Gandhi, on Twitter, said Gandhi and others tried to mislead the country on the issue but the truth has finally come out. He opined Rahul Gandhi should now apologise to the nation for his comments. In another tweet, he also explained what the Supreme Court had to say about the case.

The Supreme Court on November 14, gave relief to former Congress president Rahul Gandhi while also asking him to be careful with his statements. Justice SC Kaul, while reading out the SC judgement said it was unfortunate that the contemnor had made such remarks and that while holding such an important position, the Congress leader should have been more careful. Justice Kaul further observed that no court should be dragged into any political discourse.

The contempt case

In April this year, Rahul Gandhi, while dragging the Apex court into the political fight with the BJP, said that the Supreme Court had made it clear that the 'Chowkidar' is involved in the theft. He had further said that the Supreme Court had accepted that there is corruption involved in the entire Rafale issue. Following Gandhi's statement, BJP Member of Parliament Meenakshi Lekhi had accused him of misquoting an order of the top court.
