Union Home Minister Amit Shah has assured Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh that the Naga settlement would not affect the integrity of the state. The Naga peace talks refer to talks between the Indian government and the various stakeholders in Nagaland to resolve decades-old disputes. In 2015 with the BJP government in power firmly, a framework agreement was signed, setting the stage for the ongoing peace talks. Biren Singh had earlier met Union Home Minister Amit Singh on November 10 in New Delhi.
Last month, the Home Ministry said that all stakeholders including Assam, Manipur, and Arunachal Pradesh will be consulted before any settlement is arrived at with Naga groups and that credence should not be given to rumours that final Naga settlement has been reached.

CM Biren Singh on Tuesday had also urged the people and civil society organisations of the state to maintain calm and peace till the Centre invites stakeholders for consultation to fetch a mutual solution to resolve the Naga political problem.
“We firmly believe in the commitment given by our leaders and we honour them as the BJP is committed to the welfare of the people,” he said.

Urging people to have faith in the government he said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah had assured the state government representatives during the November 10 meeting that all stakeholders would be consulted before inking a final accord with the Nagas. Shah had also iterated the Centre's firm commitment that anything that is detrimental to Manipur's interest will never be done in the process of bringing a final solution to the Naga issue.
