Major developments took place in National Herald case on Thursday, as Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were dealt a setback at Delhi High Court, and so was ex-Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.

Meanwhile, Republic TV has also accessed a RTI response to BJP MP Dr Subramaian Swamy which contains a show-cause tice issued to Associated Journals Limited (AJL), publisher of National Herald newspaper, which is owned by Young Indian limited, which is majority-owned by Rahul and Sonia Gandhi.

Delhi High Court granted stay on eviction tice, journing hearing till vember 22.

Here are 10 developments in matter:

  1. Senior Congress leer Dr Abhishek Manu Singhvi represented AJL in Delhi High Court, and in his argument said one of main grounds for seeking eviction was that re was proper functioning printing press at Herald House. In AJL’s defense, Singhvi stated that ‘press does t mean re has to be a fully-functional printing press all time’ and cited details of company's online media activities.
  2. Dr Singhvi, in defence of Young Indian Pvt Ltd, whose major stakeholders are Congress President Rahul Gandhi and his mor Sonia Gandhi, argued that it is a 98% shareholder of AJL and t sole owner of AJL. He went to assert that AJL is a Section 25 company which does t allow it to pay any profits of company to shareholders or directors of company.
  3. Land and Development officers Gopal Rastogi and KS Rana initiated eviction proceedings at Herald House as hearing in High Court was going on -- something Dr Singhvi pointed out.
  4. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said that government will t take forceful possession of Herald House property. He ded, ‘Gopal Rastogi has been directed only to initiate eviction proceedings.'
  5. Delhi High Court granted stay to AJL on eviction tice, with next hearing to take place on vember 22.

Republic TV exclusively accessed a show-cause tice dated June 18, 2018, issued to Chairman of Associated Journals Ltd (AJL), Land and Development Officer has stated that "after inspection at premises (Herald House) by officials, it was observed that most of area was rented out and that AJL has violated lease deed, by misuses and unauthorized construction at Herald House."

  8. Meanwhile, a sanction has been granted by Haryana Goverr to prosecute former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda over land allotted to National Herald in Panchkula, as per sources.
  9. Hooda, responding to newsbreak, called sanction issued by Haryana Goverr ‘a political vendetta’ against him. “All this is politically motivated. decision was taken by entire authority and t one person. I have full faith in judiciary. This is a political nda against me. I have done thing wrong’.
  10. Dr. Subramanian Swamy, who filed case against n Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi alleging irregularities in loan of Rs 90 crore given by Congress to AJL, gave his statement after Haryana Goverr gave sanction to prosecute Hooda. Dr Swamy said, "Sonia Gandhi is alrey out on bail and Rahul Gandhi, Motilal Vohra and ors are on bail. So, he is an ditional name.'
