Thane: The Maharashtra Crime Branch has arrested Daud Shaikh, the suspect in the murder case of 20-year-old Yashashree Shinde, on Tuesday in Karnataka’s Gulbarga District.
The accused, Dawood Sheikh, was held from Shahapur area of Gulbarga in Karnataka, steted Deputy Commissioner of Police.

The woman's body was found around 2 am on Saturday and the murder might have taken place on Friday afternoon. According to police, the victim, who worked in Belapur, had taken a half-day leave on Friday.
Dawood and Yashashree had been in a relationship since 2019. When Yashashree's father learned about their friendship, he filed a POCSO case against Dawood. After spending about six months in jail, Dawood was released and subsequently moved back to his hometown in Karnataka.

A case under section 103 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered against an unidentified person and three teams were formed to trace the accused. The crime branch also probed the case independently, the police earlier said.
