navies of India and Banglesh will participate for first time in a bilateral exercise at Visakhapatnam from October 12 to 16, Navy said on Friday. exercise would also include air familiarisation of Banglesh Navy aircrew and a 10-day training exercise between Indian Navy Marine Commandos and BN SWS, it said. second edition of Indian Navy (IN) and Banglesh Navy (BN) Coordinated Patrol (CORPAT) commenced in rrn part of Bay of Bengal on Thursday. drill will take place a week after Banglesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's visit to India.

CORPAT naval exercise
INS Ranvijay, a guided-missile destroyer and INS Kuthar, an ingeniously built missile Corvette are participating in CORPAT along with BNS Ali Haider, a 053 frigate and BNS Shita, a 056 stealth guided missile corvette.
" two-day CORPAT will be followed by maiden edition of IN-BN Bilateral Exercise at Visakhapatnam from October 12 to 16," Navy said in a statement.

IN-BN CORPAT, which commenced last year, is aimed at upgring to a bilateral exercise with navies engaging in seamanship evolutions, flying exercises with integral helicopters and maritime patrol aircraft at sea. ditionally, exercises entailing development of mutual communication and sharing of best practices would also be undertaken, ding a new dimension to Indo-Banglesh maritime relations, Navy said.

With a common territorial boundary of over 4,000 kilometres and a maritime boundary, navies of both countries aim to practice and hone ir mutual cooperation whilst patrolling near International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) during current edition of CORPAT, it ded. sea phase would be followed by harbour phase that would include professional interaction between navies, visits to Indian Naval training and maintenance facilities at Visakhapatnam.

INS Khanderi
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh commissioned India's second Scorpene-class submarine INS Khanderi into service in Mumbai on September 28. submarine possesses superior stealth and or major combat capabilities. Defence Minister also launched INS Nilgiri, first ship of P-17A frigates, along with an aircraft carrier drydock. Vice miral G Ashok Kumar, vice chief of Navy h asserted that with commissioning of 'Khanderi' and launch of 'Nilgiri', combat potential of Indian Navy will "go up many folds". He h ded that aircraft carrier drydock, housed within Naval Dockyard in Mumbai, is capable of docking India's largest ship INS Vikramitya and has ability to maintain ships for deces to come.
