Indian Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh on a four days official visit to Bangladesh starting today with an aim to strengthen the bilateral maritime relations

Indian Navy Chief miral Karambir Singh is on a four-day official visit to Banglesh starting today. aim of this visit is to strengn bilateral maritime relations between two countries. During his visit, Singh will hold bilateral discussions with m Aurangzeb Chowdhury, Chief of Naval Staff, Banglesh Navy, Service Chiefs, and or senior Government officials. Indian Navy Chief hosted for a tour
Indian Navy Chief will be hosted for a tour of Khulna Shipyard Limited, Banglesh Navy bases in Chattogram and Khulna and will also dress cets at Banglesh Naval Acemy (BNA). In dition, he will participate in first-anniversary celebration of Banglesh Institute of Maritime Research and Development (BIMR).
Banglesh Navy is an active member of Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS) and is a member of all three working groups, viz Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HR), Maritime Security and ‘Information Sharing and Interoperability’.

Indian Navy and Banglesh Navy relations
Indian Navy regularly interacts with Banglesh Navy through medium of Staff Talks, Annual Defense Dialogue and or operational interactions which includes Port visits, Pass Exercises, Training, Ship Design and Ship Building cooperation besides regular participation by Indian Navy serving and retired officers in Victory Day Celebrations held in Banglesh to commemorate ‘Liberation War' of 1971.

Banglesh PM Sheikh Hasina's upcoming visit to India
Earlier in August this year, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar h confirmed Banglesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s upcoming visit to India in October ding that two countries believe that improved partnership against crimes, terrorism or terrorist groups and extremism is directly beneficial to people of both countries. Indian Navy Chief’s visit to Banglesh ahe of Banglesh Prime Minister’s visit to India is an indication of enhancing bilateral relations concerning defense and security of two nations. Banglesh Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen h also said that Banglesh PM Sheikh Hasina’s scheduled visit to India starts from October 3 when she will attend Indian Ecomic Forum on October 3 and 4, followed by a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 5.
