Mumbai: First visuals from the crime scene, where NCP Ajit Pawar faction leader Baba Siddique was shot dead by at least three assailants in Mumbai’s Bandra East, have surfaced. In the visuals, it can be seen that multiple empty cartridges were found lying on the street, where Baba Siddique was assassinated. According to police sources, at least five bullets were fired during the incident by the killers.

The Mumbai Police sources said that Baba Siddique was shot multiple times outside his MLA son Zeeshan Siddique’s office in Bandra East. Following the firing incident, Siddique was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he was declared dead. The police have detained two suspects allegedly involved in the killing of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader, while the search to nab the third accused is underway.

Baba Siddique, a veteran politician, had recently made headlines by quitting Congress after 48 years and joining Ajit Pawar 's NCP. In a scathing attack on his former party, he had compared his treatment in Congress to curry leaves, which are used to enhance flavour but have no value themselves.

The shooting comes as a surprise to many, especially since Baba Siddique's son, Zeeshan, is a Congress MLA from Bandra (East) in Mumbai. However, Zeeshan was expelled from the party in August for anti-party activities.

Baba Siddique is known for his grand Iftar parties, which are attended by top Bollywood stars.

The motive behind the shooting is still unknown, but it has sent shockwaves through the political and social circles of Mumbai.
