Netaji's birth anniversary: PM Modi remembers 'true son of Mother India'; hails dedication
Ahead of his visit to Kolkata, PM Modi took to Twitter on Saturday and paid tribute to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on his 125th birth anniversary

On ocassion of Parakram Diwas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ahe of his visit to Kolkata, took to Twitter on Saturday and paid tribute to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on his 125th birth anniversary. PM said, "Prayers to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, a great freedom fighter and true son of Mor India, on his birth anniversary. A grateful nation will always remember his sacrifice and dedication for independence of country."

President Kovind pays tribute to Netaji
President Ram Nath Kovind also paid tribute to Netaji on Parakram Diwas. He tweeted, "Netaji is one of our most beloved national heroes who me extraordinary contribution to India's freedom struggle. Netaji’s patriotism and sacrifice shall always inspire us. We are committed to strengn spirit of freedom so strongly espoused by him."
President ded, "Tributes to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose as nation commences his 125th birth anniversary celebrations. It is befitting to celebrate this day as “Parakram Diwas” to hour his boundless cour & valour. Netaji instilled fervour of nationalism among his countless followers."

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also took to Twitter and remembered Netaji on his birth anniversary. He said, " cour and valor of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose gave new strength to Indian freedom struggle. He organized youth power of country with his charismatic leership under verse circumstances. My prayers to such a great freedom fighter on his 125th birth anniversary."

Meanwhile, on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Kolkata to commemorate 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose by attending 'Parakram Diwas' celebrations at Victoria Memorial. A cultural programme "Amra Nuton Jouboneri Doot", based on me of Netaji, is also going to be held. Before this, PM Modi will visit National Library where an International Conference “Re-visiting legacy of Netaji Subhas in 21st century” will be organized.

On January 19, Government of India h decided to observe Netaji Subash Chandra Bose's birth anniversary on January 23 every year as Parakram Diwas. Centre anunced its move to pay tribute to freedom fighter to inspire youth of nation to 'act with fortitude in face of versity'. Ministry of Culture issued a circular anuncing January 23 to be observed as Parakram Diwas every year from w on.
