Delhi Police on Tuesday arrested two more armed killers as Delhi witnessed its third encounter in last 48 hours. As per police sources, third shooting incident took place in Shahdara area of East Delhi on Tuesday Morning. arrested accused were identified as Taj Mohammed alias Taju (21), a resident of Muzzafar Nagar in UP and Liyakat Ali (48), a resident of Sonepat in Haryana.
" two gangsters were on ir way to kill a man when y were overpowered by police," DCP of Special Cell, Sanjiv Yav told Republic TV.
"We were working on input. We received a tip about se 2 contract killers who were on ir way to kill somebody. We were able to trace location of incident and a team was immediately formed to lay trap for criminals," a senior police official said.
According to authorities, accused were intercepted near Shahdara area. Upon confrontation, police asked shooters to surrender but, shooters launched an open fire on cops. police launched a counter-attack in response to open firing by criminals.

Attempt to murder case lodged against accused
process to nab criminals went on for about 30 minutes, during which, one accused was injured from a gunshot. During shoot out, local police h cordoned area for civilians to avoid any casualty. A case of attempt to murder has been lodged with Special Cell. criminals will be produced before Patiala House Court where police will seek remand to investigate gang and incident into detail.
During interrogation, accused told police that y were on ir way to execute a contract killing. y were given money by a businessman to kill his rival. two arrested contract killers confessed that y were on ir way to carry out a contract killing of a businessman and that y were paid by his rival to kill target.

two accused operated from Delhi NCR and have h previous cases of murder registered against m. When asked who was target of contract killers, police refused to reveal any furr information as matter was still under investigation.
