Moderate air quality on Monday, November 18
New Delhi has witnessed extremely poor quality of air, with multiple pollutants crossing all desirable levels and leading to beyond 'hazardous quality'. The air quality worsened in the capital post-Diwali owing to multiple reasons such as stubble burning in the neighbouring states, which led to intolerable air quality. The Supreme Court of India, under the former CJI Ranjan Gogoi called out State and Central government for reportedly being "passive" on the issue. A high-level parliamentary meeting was scheduled to for Friday, however, out of 29 members who were supposed to attend, only four members showed up - making a mockery of the plight and the sufferings of the general public, who has not been able to breathe clean air, which is a human right.
However, the Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, CK Mishra will be holding a high-level meeting on air pollution on Monday. The meeting will be attended by Chief Secretaries of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. Senior officials from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Ministry of Power and Ministry of Agriculture will also be present in the meeting. The meeting will also be attended by municipal commissioners of NDMC, SDMC, EDMC, etc. District Collectors of Faridabad, Ghaziabad, NOIDA, Greater Noida will also participate via video conferencing.

The poor air quality has lead to some sensing a business opportunity and an "Oxy Pure" bar has opened up in Delhi, where people can breathe pure oxygen for a certain period of time. Oxygen will also be available in different flavours such as lavender, vanilla, peppermint, gardenias, spearmint, lemongrass, cinnamon, orange, cherry, etc.
