New initiative by the Railways, provides retiring room in Ahmedabad
In order to make the travel for the passengers relaxing, The Indian railways have come up with New Retiring Rooms in Ahmedabad that provides 3 Star facilities

Indian Railways is amongst biggest train systems in world, and it operates around 13,000 passenger trains every day. In order to make travel for passengers relaxing, railways have come up with a new retiring room in Ahmedab.
Ministry of Railways took to Twitter and anunced initiative-

Accommodation for travelers
This initiative by Indian Government will provide comfort to passengers as room gives three-star facilities, and it also has deluxe rooms to accommodate traveling families.
Indian Railways also recently took a unique initiative to go-green and has installed a PET (polyne terephthalate) bottle crushing machine in Mumbai-Delhi Rajdhani Express. Rajdhani Express is a super fast train that runs between Mumbai Central and New Delhi. PET machine can crush up to 3,000 bottles per day and is capable of recycling 90 percent waste bottles. installed PET machines can accept all s of plastic bottles ranging from 200ml to 2.5 liters. internal stor bin of machine has stor of approximately 20 liters which is equivalent to 1,500 bottles.

Changes by Indian Railways
In order to ban use of single plastic, Indian Railway has directed all Railway units to enforce a ban on single-use plastic material from October 2, 2019.
circular that was issued stated following-
-Ban on single-use plastic material.
-All railway vendors to avoid use of plastic carry bags.
-Staff should reduce, reuse and refuse plastic products and use inexpensive reusable bags to reduce plastic footprint.
-IRCTC to implement return of plastic drinking water bottles as part of Extended Producer Responsibility.
-Plastic Bottle crushing machines to be provided expeditiously.
