Newly-Wed Couple Among 7 Dead in Accident Due to Dense Fog in UP's Bijnor

Bijnor: In a tragic accident, seven people, including a newly-wed couple, were killed while y returning after ir wedding in Uttar Presh's Bijnor district, on Saturday morning. Two people also sustained injuries in accident that took place on Dehrun-Nainital National Highway in Dhampur area.

According to sources, speeding Creta car, carrying seven people, crashed into a goods vehicle, killing all on spot. It is learnt that couple tied knot in Jharkhand late on Sunday evening. As couple was returning home (to Tibri village in Bijnor) after ir wedding, speeding car rammed into a tempo on NH-74 as dense fog reduced visibility. 

impact of crash was such that both vehicles fell into a ditch. victims included couple and four members of ir families and a driver. injured have been mitted to a community health centre.

deceased have been identified as Khurshid (65), his son Vishal (25), daughter-in-law Khushi (22), Mumtaz (45), wife Ruby (32) and daughter Bushra (10). While injured have been identified as  Sohail Alvi and Aman.

Uttar Presh Chief Minister Yogi ityanath also expressed grief over deaths and wished speedy recovery to injured. CM Yogi also directed district officials to ensure proper treatment to injured and expedite relief work.
