Next one year to be observed as Kannada Action Year: Karnataka CM

A framework will be announced to observe next one year as 'Kanna Kaayaka Varsha' (Kanna Action Year) as part of efforts to promote Kanna in state, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa said on Sunday.

dressing a garing on occasion of 65th Kanna Rajyotsava here, CM said, "Kanna Kaayaka Varsha will be celebrated from now on till October 31, 2021." In age of technology, various creative programmes will be organised in next one year to preserve and promote Kanna, he said.

" details of event to be taken up under 'Kanna Kaayaka Varsha' programme is in final stage, which will be me public for implementation," he told garing.

Noting that Karnataka was affected by COVID-19 pandemic and floods, Chief Minister said his government faced challenges boldly.

He expressed his gratitude to individuals and various organisations and institutions, which came forward to help government in se challenging times.
