New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA), on Thursday, conducted extensive raids at multiple locations in five districts of Jammu and Kashmir in connection with a case related to the recent attacks on security forces and civilians. The raids were also conducted in the case related to the infiltration by terrorists from across the border. According to the investigating agency, during the raids several incriminating materials were seized by the officials.

In a statement issued by the NIA, it is said that the NIA teams conducted extensive searches at eight locations in the Reasi, Udhampur, Doda, Ramban and Kishtwar districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

As per the NIA, the raids led to the seizure of various materials showing linkages between terrorists of banned outfits with overground workers (OGWs) and hybrid terrorists whose premises were searched. During the raids, the premises of sympathisers and cadres of these terror outfits were also searched as part of the crackdown.

The officials stated that the suspected hybrid terrorists and OGWs of Thursday's searches were linked with the newly formed offshoots and affiliates of the banned terrorist outfits.

The NIA had registered the case on directions from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), on October 24, based on information regarding the infiltration of active terrorists belonging to LeT and JeM into Indian Territory through the International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC). These infiltrations were facilitated by OGWs and other terror associates, based in villages in the Jammu region, who were engaged in providing logistical support, food, shelter, and money to the terrorists.

Further investigations are being carried out into the matter.
