NIA Raids Underway Across 4 States in Link With Naxal Recruitment Case

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday conducted searches across four states in connection with in a naxal recruitment case against the leaders of a banned outfit.

The four states which were raided include Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi.

NIA sleuths have indicated that several frontal organisations and students wings have been tasked to motivate and recruit cadres and propagate naxal ideology with the intent of waging a war against the government of India.

"They were accused of conspiring to commit acts of terror and violence in furtherance of this agenda," an officials from NIA said.

The searches, which were still ongoing, are part of case RC-01/2023/NIA-LKW and targeted the premises of Naxal cadres and Over Ground Workers (OGWs).

On September 6 last year, the central probe agency had cracked down on attempts by Naxal leaders and cadres of the CPI (Maoist) to revive the banned terrorist organisation by conducting raids across Uttar Pradesh.

Those searches were conducted at the premises of the accused and suspects at eight locations in Prayagraj, Chandauli, Varanasi, Deoria, and Azamgarh districts of Uttar Pradesh.

During raids, the investigators had seized several digital devices, including mobile phones, laptops, pen drives, compact discs, and memory cards,  SIM cards, Naxal literature, books, pamphlets, pocket diaries, money receipt books, and other incriminating documents.

Probe have also revealed that Pramod Mishra was leading the cadres, sympathisers, and OGWs of CPI (Maoist) in efforts to revive the terror organisation.
