This comes after Ayodhya mediation committee asked for permission of Supreme Court to resume mediation process. committee has stated that religious parties have approached m seeking to resume talks. However, Nirmohi Akhara has reiterated that y do t require any mediator panel and only if apex court wants m to directly talk to Sunni Wakf Board, y will do it. y have also said that y are t rey to delay case proceedings currently ongoing in Supreme Court.
SC received a resumption request on Monday
On Monday, apex court received a short memorandum filed by Ayodhya mediation committee seeking its permission to resume talks in Ayodhya land dispute case. memorandum submitted by panel mentioned that religious parties have t been able to find a solution to ongoing dispute. Thus, y have approached panel seeking to resume talks of negotiation for settlement in Ayodhya dispute. y also mentioned that y do t want day-to-day hearing of case to stop. However, Nirmohi Akhara has rubbished claims stating that y did t approach mediation panel with such request.

Ayodhya mediation committee is heed by Justice FM Kalifulla, senior vocate Sriram Panchu, and spiritual leer Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. In March, apex court h referred matter to panel of mediators and h asked m to hold in-camera proceedings. y were given time of eight weeks to dress case. However, later, deline was extended till August 15 by Supreme Court because y did t want to short-circuit mediation efforts. Later, an application was filed claiming that committee was t making a progress and Judge bench led by CJI should resume hearings.

In a massive setback to Ayodhya land dispute, Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi on August 2 declared that Ayodhya mediation panel has failed. court n began day-to-day hearings from August 6. Earlier, three-member Ayodhya mediation panel submitted its status report to Supreme Court in a sealed cover, complying with orders of apex court on July 11. apex court, however, declared that mediation process ineffective.
