As farmers prepare for pan-India Chakka Jam, re will 3 hour-roblock in Uttar Presh and Uttarakhand apart Delhi on Saturday, anunced BKU spokesperson Rakesh Tikait. While Tikait has claimed that reason for t having a chakka-jam in two states is that those farmers can be called to Delhi at any time, incidentally, sugar-cane farmers have decided t to participate in movement - opting to issue a memorandum to state government detailing ir demands. Sanyukt Kisan Morcha - unions protesting at Delhi borders have called for an all-India roblock on national and state highways from 12 on to 3 PM.

As detailed by Tikait, 3-hour roblock would be held around NCR in Rajasthan, Haryana and rest of country including sourn states, but t in Delhi amid high security and fortification of Delhi's borders. He ded that farmers will provide food and water to people stuck in traffic, while explaining to m 'what Govt was doing to m'. He said, "Two tractors will come from vills and y will stay here for 5 days. n y will leave and or two tractors will replace m." Reports state that re is growing resentment against BJP among Jat farmers from Western UP, who h voted for Modi government in 2019. With most panchayats boycotting BJP leers from ir Mahapanchayats, reports state that BJP is trying to reach out to farmers ahe of UP polls 2022.
Farmer protests' political turn
Muzaffarnagar Jat farm leer - Rakesh Tikait has been at forefront of farm movement at UP-Delhi borders. With dip in farmers' protest after 26 January violence and Red Fort incident, Tikait re-energised protest as he called for farmers to he to Ghazipur, while breaking down on camera saying, " I will commit suicide, but won't vacate protest site". His ardent plea evoked a massive response with thousands of farmers camping at Ghazipur. Tikait's call was in response to Yogi government's order to vacate Ghazipur protest site within 24 hours - cutting off water, electricity, and internet. MHA later cut off internet at Tikri, Ghazipur, and Singhu areas, while Haryana too has cut off internet in most districts ahe of Chakka jam.

Since n, farmers' protest has taken a definite political turn with Manish Sisodia visiting Singhu border and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh dressing Kisan Mahapanchayat at Muzaffarnagar. Moreover, several politicians like Abhay Singh Chautala, Sukhbir Singh Bal, Chaudhary Ajit Singh, Sanjay Singh, Arvind Kejriwal spoke to Tikat after he broke down and several politicians like Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Singh, Hanuman Beniwal and ors visiting Tikait. Currently, protests continue at Delhi borders for 72nd day, with Centre-farmer talks stalled.
