'No deaths in Shramik Trains due to lack of food, water': Centre tells SC
Centre told SC that no deaths of migrant workers had occurred in any Shramik trains due to lack of food, water, or medicines being provided to the people

Central government on Friday told Supreme Court that deaths of migrant workers h occurred in any Shramik trains due to lack of food, water, or medicines being provided to people.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta representing Centre before Supreme Court 3-Judge Bench said that all deaths that h occurred were due to previous illnesses and t due to negligence on part of Railways.

Solicitor also gave details of number of migrant workers that h alrey been transported back home. “Over 1 crore stranded migrants have been sent back to ir home states,” Solicitor General told Supreme Court, “that’s 90% of migrant workers, most of whom have been sent back to eir Uttar Presh or Bihar”.

States' submissions
Several States were also represented before Supreme Court through ir respective counsels. States of Karnataka, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nu told Supreme Court that in next 15 days, y will ensure that all migrants who are willing to still travel back will be transported.

Steps taken for speedy movement of migrants
Centre also apprised Supreme Court on steps that were being taken by m to ensure speedy movement of stranded migrants.
“We have written a letter to Chief Secretaries of all States asking m to submit ir demands for how many trains are required by m. We have me it a point to arrange trains for which demands are raised within 24 hours of receiving request from States," Tushar Mehta said.
